About Fruita.com

An independent, locally run travel guide to Fruita, Colorado — built on firsthand experience and verified against official sources.

01

Who runs Fruita.com

Fruita.com is operated by Rick, a longtime Grand Valley resident, mountain biker, and desert rat who has spent years riding, hiking, camping, and eating his way across Fruita, Colorado. Rick built this guide because so much of what is written about the region online is either outdated, generic, or accidentally about the other Fruita in Utah. Everything here is deliberately, exclusively about Fruita, Colorado — the town at the foot of the Colorado National Monument, the 18 Road trails, and the Kokopelli Loops above the Colorado River.

02

Our mission

The goal is simple: to be the single most useful, trustworthy, and honest travel resource for anyone planning a trip to Fruita and the surrounding Grand Valley. We want a first-time visitor to be able to arrive knowing where to ride, where to sleep, where to eat, when to come, and how to make the most of the desert — without wading through marketing fluff or content farmed from somewhere else. If a page does not help you plan a better trip, it does not belong here.

03

How we research information

Every guide on this site starts with firsthand experience on the ground in Fruita, then gets cross-checked against authoritative primary sources. For trails and public lands we consult the Bureau of Land Management, COPMOBA (the regional trail advocacy organization), and the National Park Service for the Colorado National Monument. For events and civic details we rely on the City of Fruita and the official Fruita tourism office. For camping and state parks we reference Colorado Parks & Wildlife. We prefer official sources over aggregators, and we link out to them so you can verify the details yourself.

04

How we verify and update

Trail conditions change, restaurants open and close, festival dates move, and fees get adjusted. We review each page on a regular schedule and after major seasonal changes, updating anything that is no longer accurate. When we are not certain a detail is current — a ticket price, an exact date, an entrance fee — we say so and point you to the official source rather than guessing. If you spot something out of date, the Contact page is the fastest way to tell us, and corrections from locals and visitors are genuinely welcome.

05

How we make money

Fruita.com is free to read. The site is supported by advertising and, in some cases, affiliate links to lodging and gear. Advertising never determines which trails, restaurants, or hotels we recommend, and we do not accept payment for a favorable write-up. When a link is a paid affiliate link, we disclose it. You can read the full details on our Affiliate Disclosure page.

A note on the other Fruita

There is a Fruita in Utah near Capitol Reef National Park, and search engines constantly confuse the two. This site is never about that place. Everything you read here — every trail, overlook, campground, brewery, and festival — is in and around Fruita, Colorado, in Mesa County on Colorado’s Western Slope. If you came looking for orchards and a historic Utah settlement, you are in the wrong canyon.
